Employment
Michael Standing joined BYU’s Electron Microscopy Facility in September 1990 as an electron microscope technician. He specializes in preparation and analysis of biological samples for electron microscopy.
Before working at BYU, he worked in the US Air Force as an airframe repair specialist for 4 years.
Education
Michael received his AS in biology from San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton California in 1990. He also earned a certificate in biological electron microscopy in conjunction with that degree.
In 2020, he also received his BS in exercise science from BYU.
Professional Interests
Michael is currently interested in 3D reconstruction of serial sections in biological electron microscopy.
